I just finished up a second batch of spectacle knives, and have a few others that are going out soon. I havent made sheaths yet, that is my next step. These are all 1095 with hamons, but the hamons dont show up real well in the pictures. Someday I will get the picture thing right.

Let me know what you think.

All of them are awesome. Mine should be in the mail tomorrow in time for the Denver PKA show. I like the top two the best, the filework on the larger one is my favorite pattern.

Thanks ilbruche, at least I remembered to take pictures of these ones :)

Got my spectacle in today's mail. Great knife, great price, great service!
The sheath is great but.......a piece of folded and riveted kydex, some dogtag chain, and I believe we have a fine neckknife. :)

I'm a big fan of Bailey blades and owner of two. After seeing these I want to buy more

:) Great designs and craftsmanship :) First picture, bottom knife I'm all over one of those Matt.

Agreed, I really like the handle, blade shape and filework on that one.

Thank you gentlemen,
I have become quite a fan of ringed knives. I have always kind of liked them. Before I started making knives, I owned a CRKT bear claw. I think I still have it somewhere. I have made a few like the one in the pic, and am considering making one for myself.

WOW...I love the top one that is leaning on the Glock....awesome!! I may end up with one of your knives yet!

I really like that flame design on the back of those blades and i like that ricasso on the one with the hard wood handle. CRKT makes a knife that looks like the spectacles. Glock isn't bad either!

PS. wont high carbon steel rust, or do u reccomend "rust-free" or something

Carbon steel does rust. Normal use gives it a patina, which helps prevent rust, but the best care is to just keep them clean, dry and lightly oiled. I like it better than stainless, but I am pretty particular about taking care of my knives.

I love the glock too, but I wish I had got the 40 instead of the 9mm. Oh well.

none of them have hard wood handles though, they are all micarta. (maroon, black, and natural) the natural has a 2 tone look to it. I bought it in a large block, and cut it up. the parts that were closest to the surface were darker. I am not sure, but I wonder if micarta darkens with age?

The top 3 knives plus a couple of others are mine! Very nicely done, Matt! The larger one in the first pic is actually Matt's "My Knife" that I requested he made a copy of without the ring at the end. Really liked the way they turned out!

The bottom one in the top picture is my favorite. I really like that design. Great job as usual.

Glad you like them talon. It is always my fear that the person who ordered them will see them on the forum and not like them. I am glad they got your seal of approval. The others should be done soon.

Lucky dog. I'm not sure what mine looks like yet! But I know it is in the mail today. After seeing the spectacle knives I ordered a knife that was an amalgamation of a CRKT carcajou handle with the blade of a Becker Necker. So I guess it is similar to "Matts knife". When he posted the pictures of his I knew mine would turn out awesome.

Got mine today. Easily now my favorite knife. 1095 with black micarta scales. Filework all around. Leather pouch sheath designed for horizontal carry. I can let it dangle off my pinky and quickly flick it back into action. It rocks!

glad you like it. Looks like you take better pictures than I do.

That line on the blade near the cutting edge is just some wax from the sheath. It should rub right off

I forgot to wipe the blade before I took the pictures.

I really like the horizontal sheath, makes it easy to draw quickly.

ilbruche, thanks for the pics. I appreciate seeing the pics up close, really shows off Matts work in detail. Cant wait to get my knives!
