Hi Joe, how are you? I'm doing good! On looking at a way to put some Knives together, I noticed these 8 made 3 sets and a pair of Bill's Bowies. The 2 damascus sets were bought as pairs in 2007 and 1996 I believe. The HBs were bought at the 2000 Soldier of Fortune Convention in Las Vegas and are dubbed the Y2K Belles. Sadly that was the last SOF Convention held. The last pair were similar in stature but were bought years apart. I had a double shoulder rig made for the Y2K HBs which actually works well but is used for knife and gun shows. It is adjustable web straps and concealex sheaths in upside down carry mode for 13" and 12.5" HBs. I will try to get a pic out to you soon. Thanks JP for these threads you post and to all who chime in, your insights are good to see! Regards, Bob Furusho

Thank you, as always, Joe. I hope to reciprocate your generosity posting awesome pictures of BB's knives by posting some of my own, hopefully soon.

Hey Joe,
I find Mr. Bagwell's blades intriguing - thanks for posting so many!

I know that Bill is a big advocate of the blade being ergonomically aligned... does he make all of them with that slight inward bend I saw on that gorgeous stag piece you were carrying last year at Blade?

The first two really do it for me.

I too find Bill's knives intriguing so would like to expand a bit on Matthew's question.
I've always heard and Bill has told me that he designs his knives around the individuals they're made for. So is that why the blade tip on the first HB (#5) is quite a bit below centerline of handle and the tip of the second HB is pretty in-line with the center-line of the handle? Or perhaps it's because the first has a bit longer blade.

Thanks guys for the nice comments I am sure Bill and Bob really apreciate it I know I do.

Matt and Kevin when ya order a knife from Bill he ask some basic questions hand size height and such things he tries to match a blade up for a person all according to his size and way of carry.

For the way I carry I for one really like 9 1/2 inch knives because any larger even by a half inch or so they don't carry well for me. Also for me I really feel at that length it starts adding alot of power to a blade.

So he tries to size up his customers size carry style and primary want for one of his knives also he makes left or right handed knives.

Alot of his customers will request certain blade lengths even if they might be better suited for his recommended length but that is okay he will make what ever length with in reason that you want. Some sets are matching right and left knives the same size or the strong hand knife slightly larger. What ever you want again with in reason.

His bush bowies are heavier with thicker blades his HD's and VM's are more oriented to speed. Both will do both tasks but they are just fine tuned to someones primary use.

Thanks again see ya all at Blade

Thanks Joe and Bob! Like OldPhysics I love seeing these posts and look out for them. To me, Bill's work stands alone in Bowies.

Posting these threads makes me really want a Bagwell... But I'm afraid that being young and Broke will prevent me from ever getting a "made for me" Bagwell...

I never thought I could ever get one either being young and a student and now I'm waiting on my second :) Try to work it out. Ring Bill and see how much the one you'd like would be. Then try to save a lil bit every week.
The best advice I was ever given by a fellow knife collector was save and buy the one you want the first time round because you're only going to end up buying it in the end and buying something in its place is where the real cost starts.
So go on get yourself that Bagwell. There is nothing like it :D

I'd feel awkward calling the man... But I do know what you are talking about buying what you want.
