Nice pictures. I know those guys, except for Jeremy -- and he looks like his knives! :)

some knives:

Rockstead video, ZDP-189 @ 67HRC. Before this, he push-cut through 1-inch hemp rope, and a 2-inch stack of paper.

NICE! That Rockstead table looks like it has about 30k worth of their knives on it.. insane prices on those.. I talked to one of the guys at Rockstead about ordering a knife then realized they are INSANELY expensive.. love the mirror polish on 'em though..

So... you didn't pick me up a trencher from Jeremy?? :/ doh I would have been ok with the Pohan folder too, looks tight..

Was Kiku there? Hmmm I am jealous :)

Yup, Kikuo Matsuda was there, I think his table was right beside Jeremy's. That Trencher is still available I think :) Pohan Leu had several tantos too, but that huge folder really stands out.

Rockstead has some crazy and beautiful stuff.

Nice pics and video! I saw that rockstead demo today...although the prices kept me from being TOO impressed :D As of today, Horton had 2 trench knives left.

So someone grabbed that Damascus Ringer, nice. I was tempted to snag that one too, but I bought his folder that he was keeping for himself :) He sold 10 of his knives as soon as he got there on Thursday night, they were waiting for him. I bought his folder, but left it with him for most of the show so he had more stuff on his table.

Good stuff. That knife has been getting a lot of attention over on the HTM manufacturer's subforum ever since Darrel posted some WIP pics of the machined scales. It's really an incredible piece of work. Also, one small correction: the inlay is actually lightning strike carbon fiber, not mammoth ivory. You can see it more clearly in these pics that Darrel posted on the HTM subforum:

You could be right. I looked at another pic that I had, and it was clearer there. DR did mention something about the mammoth ivory though, or maybe that was someone else...I probably got confused :(

There was one with the lightning strike CF also, but the blade was plain. The blades are the same on both pics though, but that inlay is clearly different. Maybe they switched scales? DR told me that the mammoth ivory one was $4K. One was also a framelock.
Interesting. Pretty sure it's the same knife, inlay and all, and that there may have just been some miscommunication at the show as to what the inlay material was. For instance, in this work in progress picture, Darrel describes the inlay as being lightning strike carbon fiber, but due to the lighting and low-quality picture it looks similar to the way it did in your in-hand picture at the show:

Edit: Whoops, just saw your edited post after I had typed and submitted mine. And yeah, that's my guess as to what happened -- there was probably another knife with mammoth ivory inlay that Darrel or another maker was referring to.
