A gold-ish looking beetle,(ok, my wife just told me its green; I'm color blind) green-ish beetle, seen a few of them, not sure what they are ?

Northern water snake was crossing the path. My daughter almost steeped on it, but seen it at the last second.

It was a nasty little bugger, not happy at all. took several strikes at my walking stick.

Hope you enjoyed them, thanks for looking.

Love that water, the animals, and especially the fact you took your daughter with you:thumbup:

I'd be nasty too if I were being poked by a walking stick. LOL Looks like fun.

Awesome photos! The snake pics are really cool, never seen one of those down this way...guess that's where the "northern" comes in... Looks like you and your daughter had a great hike, you sure have a beautiful area to wander in.

Terrific pics - especially that mushroom shot. I love the lighting.

Thanks for sharing!

That water pic looks really awesome. Looks like a place I would visit often. Thanks for sharing

Great pics. The beetle is a Six Spotted Tiger Beetle. We have them around here too.

I thought the snake is a milk snake? I have a bunch of pictures here (taken last year) of what I was told was a milk snake, which is a dead ringer for your guy/gal.

That's the one that caught my eye too. Love the spider on the log. Everything in it looks so crisp.

I have to admit, I got lucky on this shot. I was actually up on a small bridge that spanned this gully. I saw the mushrooms they were 30-40 ft away. I maxed the zoom out and on my camera when you do that its hard to take a steady shot. As I said I got lucky, I do like how it turned out and did not notice the spider until the third time I looked at the pic. Thanks for the nice comments.

I'm no snake expert, but I do carry a map sized laminated wildlife of Ohio card. The snake I saw was a dead ringer for the northern water snake and did not look like the milk snake pictured on it. How ever I am slightly color blind, but believe 90 % it was a northern water snake. Thanks for the beetle identification.
