(Hopefully this works.)

Howdy, folks. I decided it was time to show some of my khuks in action. I'm kind of having a wee bit o' braindeadness, so the commentary will be short. (Pause for sighs of relief.)

Only four pictures, so let's get it over with quickly.

That's my first ever khuk: a Bura 18" AK weighing around 28 oz. (Perfect in my mind.) The tree felled was about 8" in diameter and took a little under 5 minutes of heavy chopping.

The same khuk resting on a 1 1/2"-2" diameter sapling that was taken down in one swing. I was very excited when I did this. Makes ye feel powerful.

The 18" AK and the stag M43 made by Sher that comes in at 2 pounds. Sweet knife. Great chopper. Wicked curve. I need not even mention how great the handle is. The toy in the middle is my brother's youth group mascot at university. He stole it for the time being and brought it across the country for some photo ops.

Finally:

The man behind the khukuri. Me doing my best to look menacing... Oooohh...

Sorry to bother you folks, but there you are!

Thanks, guys. I figured I might as well show that I use these durn things instead of having them just sit around, though they still do get fondled a lot.

The stag one is a lot of fun to use, though I had to work quite a while on the edge to get it decently sharp. It came dull, but with a fat convex grind already very much started. I'm still using files and ceramic rods and haven't graduated to sandpaper, mousepads, or electric equipment... Yet... In any case, I've got me a collection of around 10 at the moment and am feeling very happy with my purchases.

When I get the time, I'll show you some of my vinegar etches of a 10.5" BDC and a 12" Sirupati. I may very well etch that ol' M43 and AK as well.
