Hello Sheaths & Suchers,
Hope the Holiday Season is treating you well!
Thought I’d share some work I’ve had on and off the bench over the last while.
I watched my Dad make the top cartridge slip back in the early 90’s from some scrap he pillaged from a local saddle maker with a handful of simple tools. I always really liked it growing up, then back in 2004 he gifted it to me for my birthday and I’ve used it since then for my magnum cartridge needs. It is a great design and while it’s simple enough I doubt my Ol’ Man is the only one to ever think of it, I’ve never seen another quite like it.
I’ve always wanted one for the “ought six” line of cartridges so when I had some time I decided to plegiarize my Dad’s design and build one with sewing incorporated. I have a bunch of Tandy leather left over that I will no longer use for sheaths. It’s not the best looking leather but it works great.
I’ve since made a few stocking stuffers with some better leather. This ones been hunted a fair bit so it’s no longer new.
I made this set of knives and sheaths for a couple of new model knives I designed and the purchaser of the pair wanted a cross draw combo sheath in addition to the original Swede lined sheaths.
Here is the crossdraw combo sheath for the pair.
Here is a recent Christmas order that I just shipped out.
A couple holsters...
Anyhow, life is good in NW Colorado!
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Todd
