A few questions about BK10

Hi guys,
this is my first post in this forum. I like knives but I'm not an expert, and since I need to buy a strong, tough knife for a 'regular' mountain/woods use (I live in Italy, so there is no danger to be attacked by grizzlies :D ) I'm here to ask you a few questions about the BK10.

- I like the 'desert camo' version: is it qualitatively different from the 'regular' one?.
- Is sharpening the blade easy enough for a "novice" like me?
- About the sheath: is it reliable?

Thanks in advance for your help,

TE

P.S. Do you know where I can find some larger pictures of this particular knife?

I don't have the desert camo version, but I wouldn't think there would be any physical difference other than the color.

This blade steel is easily sharpened, and holds an edge fairly well. If you can sharpen any other knife, you can sharpen this one.

It is adequate, but I prefer a Kydex sheath personally. I would like to see heavier material in the sheath as well, but, as I said earlier, it is adequate for the purpose it was designed to fulfill.

Thanks in advance for your help,

TE

Glad to hear (well, read) it. I know that a guy in the woods with a desert-camo knife may look funny :D but I really like that color.

I like Kydex too (though some custom leather sheaths look really good), I'll probably look for a Kydex sheath after I actually buy the knife.

Thanks for your help, bigcustom. :)

Take a good look at the BK-2 also...slightly different blade shape than BK-10, same length blade, thicker blade, and a nice kydex sheath from the factory. www.savsonswordsandknives.com has the best prices I have seen on these.

Even better, thanks. And the kydex sheath is very nice, I agree. Unfortunately, as many other online shops, savsonswordsandknives.com does not ship in foreign countries, but that is not a big problem. I know for sure that some Camillus products are available here in Italy, I'll give a look around to check if BK2 has been imported. Thanks.

;)
