I just got my first Sebenza. It has some light carry marks and the lock seems like it grabs when open(not easy to disengage),is this normal for a ti frame lock?when it is locked the frame lock is very close to touching the front scale.
I am going to send it in for sharpening with a 10.00 M.O. for return shipping.will they also remove the carry marks and adjust the lock?

u812,

Welcome to the club. It is normal, I believe, for a Ti to gall against steel, which may explain why the lock seems to grab when open. However, I don't have any difficulty in unlocking my Sebenza, so perhaps your problem is answered by the fact that the lock bar travels close to the other side.

To answer your other questions, though, the carry marks will only be removed if you ask for that service. I believe it costs an additional $21.00 to sandblast the handles. If there is a problem with the lock, the shop will contact you about having it fixed. That likely will not be a free fix either, although the cost should be a fraction of the price of a new Sebenza.

Best of luck,

Matthew

Thanks for the info,I just called them to see about the return shipping and they said that a tune up was free and should fix the problem.

Got to give a big THANK YOU to Ted.I followed the thread you posted and took her apart, clean lubed and rotated the stop pin a little.Put it back together and BOOM the frame lock engages perfectly, looks just like the lock up in the pic.;) :D
