I don't make a lot of hunting knives (heck, I don't make a lot of KNIVES!:D), but this is a style that I've always loved, and managed to squeeze out in time for deer season. The first two are a matched pair of 3-1/2" blades in A2 tool steel, with black G10 guards and stainless spacers, mosaic pins, and gorgeous bookmatched blocks of Claro walnut.

I like the reduction in weight that using G10 for the guard offers. It's a nice touch, I think.

Here's a similar piece, with a 3-1/2" blade of O1 tool steel, and black G10 guard with stainless spacer, and a stainless pin, this time in some of my buddy Derrick Wulf's superb curly Vermont sugar maple.

I've got a Japanese style aikuchi that, with any luck, I'll get a photo of some time today, but thought I'd at least share these, first.

Thanks for looking!

Everything a hunter should be, and nothing that it shouldn't. Strong, classy, and sharp. And the blades are pretty much perfect - Just enough point, just enough belly, and such clean finish!

That claro walnut is gorgeous but I also really like the contrast between the black G10 and that light maple. Quite striking.

Matt, those are spectacular!

I especially like the the Walnut.

Matt, that is a knife I wish I had made. Really good traditional look. The sort of thing I make for my Texas guys this time of year.

Those are damn nice. M. "no wimpy handles" Gregory!

Those'll do it. I love A2 on a field dressing knife, and those G10 bolsters/guards are great. The proportions are right up my alley - 3-3.5" blade and don't skimp on the handle.

Those are absolutely superb.....your talents are boundless my friend! :D
