All the recent discussion about Peanuts and Texas Jacks made me give Case a 2nd chance. The Case Crandall Peanut and Amber Bone CV Texas Jack were great deals at $27 and $23 plus shipping. The 2007 Peanut has a higher level of fit and finish than the 2004 Texas Jack, but overall both are excellent. Good to see Case improving quality. Wish the peanut was CV but I can live with the SS. I immediately fell in love with the Peanut so I stitched up a little leather pocket clip pouch for it. The pouch keeps it scratch free and ready for quick deployment.

I've had the Boker Stag Copperhead (carbon steel) for about a three weeks now. Very nice knife for the money.

Great knife month for me so far!

Were did you get the texas jack for $27?!

Nice pics! I love all three of them.

How long is that boker? Do you have a pic of all three together?

The Texas Jack was $23 on an eBay auction.

I don't have a picture with all three together. The Boker is 3 3/4" closed and is much larger and thicker than either Case knife. The Peanut is 2 7/8" and the Texas Jack is around 3 1/2".

Nice pictures. Do you have any of the Boker with both blades full open? I would like to see that if it's not too much trouble, I've been eying that one for a while. Oh, and where did you get the nice clip sheath? That looks really nice too.

I'm going to take some more pictures of all the knives together and open so check back this evening.

I made the clip sheath myself. The sheath can be clipped inside or outside the pocket because the clip is very strong. The leather was from Michael's Arts and Crafts for $4. The clip came off a cheap $5 cell phone pouch from Lowes. The rivets were leftover from a previous project. They were part of a kit that included the rivet setting tools for $6. The outer layers of leather are glued to the lining layers and then the whole thing is stitched together. I hand stitched it with a Tandy Leather stitch awl.

Sweet looking knives and pouch! Glad you took another chance on Case with the newer ones. A major difference now and coming back out of that slump they seemed in for a while. I think several manufacturers seem to go through it. Queen seems to be having issues at present and a lot of inconsistency. Hopefully, they will step back, take a deep breath, and get back to basics such as F&F consistently.

Man, those are good looking knives, and terrific photos.

Thanks for sharing those. Gotta love a jack knife. :)

As promised here are some more photos.

I really like my new Case knives, but the Boker Copperheads are still my favorite production slipjoints.

Boker does put some beautiful stag on their knives. I have a couple of Boker slippies in stag and all are beautiful and warm. Nice gathering there.

LOL, my wife didn't buy the "only one" comment either.

That's when you need to begin being creative and say things like "at least I don't gamble, drink or do drugs" (excessively). :p

It looks like you have every Boker copperhead except mine (carbon blades, smooth redbone). I predict another slipjoint in my future, this time with a large blade/pen blade combo - maybe a peanut.

Those pix are really 1st class:thumbup:

I have the Crandall Peanut as well, Half Whittler too and think it is a fantastic bone colour.Too bad there's no Wharncliffe Mini-Trapper in that series. Was thinking about asking Muskratman to change scales for me but haven't heard of him for a while.

As for Böker, waiting for my first cv Copperhead&looking forward to it on the strength of your pix thanks.

That works all right, but all I usually have to do is casually comment on all the excess stuff she likes to have like shoes, clothes, jewelry, etc. A little perspective goes a long way sometimes.:)
