Sly, My compliments to you my friend! Excellent design and finish work on each and every piece. Your inlays are beautifully executed, and the linings look perfect!

Can you please explain the top sheath to me. Specifically - how did you put that firesteel loop on? I see it is externally sewed on - but what other steps did you take?

Thanks - and GREAT work.

Excellent finish on the linings, overall very clean, something I'am striving for. Thanks for sharing.

Tal, it appears (and I may be way off on this) that the firesteel loop is part of the welt itself, then folded over and sewn to the top of the sheath.

Great work as always Sly,:thumbup::thumbup:

GB,

I don't think so - if you look - the Firesteel is in the middle of the welt - it would be slightly raised if it was the welt. I am wondering if he simply sewed on an additional peice of leather to the exterior of the sheath. If so - how exactly did he do this (there look to be other stitches - is the loop lined?)

TF

It could be a completely seperate piece or part of a stacked welt, guess we'll never know until we see the back :)

As for the extra stitching, I believe that is there as an aesthetic add on only...kind of like stitching a single layer belt simply for looks.
