I often wonder why some models are not as popular as others. Any of these three knives would make great all around knives, but don`t get the attention they deserve. And I`m not saying that because I designed them, because only one is my design.

Michigan Trail Knife (jds1 design) 8" oal, 3 3/4" blade, 1/8" thick

Camp Knife 10 3/4" oal, 6" blade, 1/8" or 3/16" thick

Phoenix (Rockywolf design) 9" oal, 4 1/2" blade, 1/8" thick

I like them all. Of course the bottom one is pretty sweet! And how about 2 others? The EDC and the Rockywolf's choice? I own 2 of each of them: great small knives.

John, Many of your models are underrated , I still believe your Hudson Bay is the one of best all around knives out there . Your pocket bowie was a great design and knife, wish I had ordered one. . It is hard know why buyers only buy certain models .

Seeing that shot of the MI Trail Knife reminded me of how much I enjoyed our first visit that day. :)

I'd be all for a Camp with a bit of a drop point if I wasn't so stinkin' broke. I've liked that model from the first time I saw it.

I've always drooled over John's Hudson Bay model !!!!

It was actually me that suggested he make one.

I agree - I love the looks of the camp knife, but a little bit of straight drop would make it flat out sexy.
now if only i had some $$ to spend on something other than the house or the wife's car this month...

I was thinking a straight clip about half the length of the blade and dropping no more than 1/4 the blade height or a smooth curve the full length of the blade and coming down to the same height on the blade.

Either way would be fantastic. I like a pointy-ish blade tip.

I`ve done the Camp Knife in a clip and drop point, just need to find photos of them.

The EDC version of the Kephart is another knife that deserves more attention.

And the Roach Belly knives are WAY overlooked!

Jeff

If I remember right, you have the only Roach Belly knives I`ve made! To me, they are darn near perfect for kitchen knives, whether at home, or in the field.

John - here's my "madagascar hissing sized roach belly" - I made out of a snapped machete.
I suspect it'll handle all my camp cooking needs...
