Just for interest, it gives a different perspective when seeing the numbering together like this. Any info welcome.

The first one here causes me a little concern but blade etch does say 1 of 1 but it appears to read as 100 and is possitioned incorrectly I would say it is suspect ????? the last one had to be done on the reverse side as it is engraved on the other side.

This one below was not done at the factory.

The one that concerns you matches the orientation of the shielding. I have noticed that with several issues, shields (or artwork) was oriented according to how they would be displayed (does that make sense?). We often tend to think in terms of the Old Timer and Uncle Henry badging with the shields read on the mark side with blade right. But several SFO customers (and possibly some LE's) were intended to be displayed fully open with blade left. To me that one still correctly reads "001" when held so that the shield is read.

Nice knives! I can see why a collector would be touchy when so much money and effort has been expended in assembling a group of low serial samples, and not everyone buys into the idea that all such knives (especially when seen in multiples years after the closing) are genuine. In the end, it is ourselves we have to satisfy, not this opinion or that.

Want a difinitive answer? Ask Tim Faust, Wally Gardiner (not Gardner), or Dave Swinden Sr. As Mr. Levine is fond of saying, "every monkey has an opinion". The three gents are the ones who Know The Facts.

....and with 000 or 0000 numbers the knives could be displayed however in the Flyer photo shoots with less regard to orientation.
Tim, I just made post on the other thread re Flyer bolster numbers. Is it your Statue of Liberty with the 0000 bolster numbers because I have the original flyer for that series with that knife featured. Its yours if you would like. Hoo Roo.

Thats Clear, it makes sence that they would do this, thanks.

Larry
No that one was a friends thanks for the offer but if you have any flyers with LB7s and zeros I would love to have one of those. Perhaps we could work out something.

What was the actual true intended purpose of these flyers?? Flyers is an term Ive heard often but it is unfamiliar to me??

Regards Tim

For display in retail hardware shops to whip the customers up into a buying frenzy for the latest Schrade releases they could order. Larry Vickery has a lot opf Flyers displayed on his site. Very colourful with larger than life or actual size photo of the knife and bling.
When I do quit a few I intend to include the original flyer with the actual style knife.

Thanks Larry, I found Larrys website and found 8 Schrade flyers all with LB7s with zero stamps. Heres one.
Thanks Again.
Tim
