Hey guys,

Fairly new here and first a simple shoutout to the good amount of BF users that I've asked noob questions to, seeked advice, and bought/sold with. Great community and I'm glad to be a part of.

I was asked today if I'd ever use the Ferrum Forge Mordax and I plan to, but to be honest I do try and jack up my less expensive knives first :-) I'm really happy with this latest addition. Feels good in my hand, deploys smoothly with minimal effort once past the detent, perfectly centered, and an early lockup which I prefer. I'm hoping the ano job doesn't dull too quickly!

Here's a few user knives (and gear) I've had in the past, aiming to use the Mordax as much as these over the next few years.

Well used gear (in a recreational sense) usually indicate a happy soul.

Nice post man... Enjoy the FFKW- it's just begging to be used!

It has since been properly broken in! And by that I mean cutting tar paper, cutting into a mortar bag and getting dust in the pivot, prying tiles, etc and staying sharp throughout.

Now there we go.... that Mordax is taking on a great personality!
Now that you're running it thru the paces, hows it holding up?

Thanks and it sure has! Its been carried everyday for the past 2 months and I think I'm extremely partial to flippers now. Its still buttery smooth as day one and the tight lockbar has since smoothed out. When its gotten dirty and gritty..dropped and used as a hammer, I've simply rinsed it in the sink, scrubbed it with a sponge and dish soap, and put a light coat of CLP on the blade. Looks and functions like new after every time!

There was one hiccup during a bbq party. It wouldn't deploy smoothly and I could hear some rubbing - this developed right after I started playing with it and flipping it open and closed. I took it to the grill to cut up some veggies and tri-tip, got some juice and bbq sauce in the pivot area and it started deploying smooth again! Oddly enough it worked its way to normal - FFKW offered to take it in if it ever happened again.

Hey, didn't I see that on reddit?

You sure did! If I recall I posted it on /r/knifeclub

Beat the crap out of this to test better-quality chinese brands. Held up great, still use it a lot.
