I'm in the same boat...I'm not the social media type. A few posts in the forums is about as much as I share.

You guys know that you don't have to actually use facebook right?

You can create a new dummy email address and then only give facebook the bare minimum (name can be fake).

That's a bit dishonest and not how I roll. There are ways around most everything, btw.
