. . . and by family, I mean a family of knives! :D

Rather than posting photos just of the HB I got from Andy last week, I decided to go for a walk in the woods and take all of my Fiddlebacks with me. Of course, it didn't happen without pics, right? ;)

Here's my little collection, pre-outing:

Blurry, but I couldn't resist:

Continued on next post . . .

. . . part 2

I found some tough, dry wood from a refuse pile at a nearby arboretum, and put each knife through a little woodwork.

First the Bushcrafter:

So pretty . . .

It split the wood well, and trust me, it was tough going

I love how convexed edges curly feather sticks so nicely

The bushcrafter also cross grain batoned through this green wood REALLY easily.

I REALLY love the Hiking buddy. In my opinion, it's great for anything you might want a small knife for (dayhikes, fine work), but it's tough enough and got the right grind for doing any sort of bushcrafty things. It's not pictured here, but it also drills very well. Probably a good knife to let someone with smaller hands use if they want to learn some woodsbumming skills :)

It came very sharp, and feathered with very little effort despite my poor feathering skills

. . . part 4

I fooled around with the Runt a bit. I love this knife as an EDC, but it's stout enough to handle a lot more.

Man, great pics! You've got a neato collection. Imagine having three knives and the biggest has a 4" blade. Nice.

Thanks for the compliments, guys! :D

Thanks. Luck of the draw! It's compact, but the handle is really filling, very comfortable. I can see myself using this one a lot.

Thanks, Andy. I'm big on two things: durable handles and small blades. I don't go much bigger than 4" unless the task really calls for it. That's what axes and 'chetes are for. Same goes for thin blades. Use 'em right, and the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages
