Hi Guys,

I though I'd show y'all a new knife I just finished. Lousy pics, I know. but it's darned hard to take a good pic of a mirror finished blade. Anyway, about the knife-it has a 9" hollow ground 1095 blade with filework and a sharpened topclip. The handle is quilted maple, and the furniture is NS.

Thanks for looking, and any and all feedback is welcome.

Dave

Excellent knife. Looks big and mean while the hardware gives it an elegant touch of class.
.....that didn't sound right but I think you know what I mean. I really like this one.

Thanks Ken,

I took your advice. Here are some better pictures. Let me know what you think.

David, that really is cool! The blending and flow of the handle into the guard into the blade is gorgeous.

It will be difficult with pictures to fully appreciate that knife but it does look nice. There's a couple of elements you don't typically see on a bowie like that though, the sharpening choil is usually not there and where the blade drops down is usually right at the ricasso, where the choil currently is. It is definitely different but the profile is really attractive.

Sam. thanks for your comments.I am happy you like this knife, I have agonized over a mirror finish or a high grit finish, say..2500 grit. when you hold the knife the mirror finish is awesome, but it's hard to take photo's and, of course, the slightest mark does show. What do you think? What's the point of doing a perfect grind and mirror finish if you can't take a d@#^^% photo?

To "I love Global Warming" (I love that, Canada, uh, LOL), I suspect the reason you don't see many sharpened topclips is fear of double edged dagger type laws. I made this knife as a pure fighter. In addition to the sharpened clip, take a look at the skull crusher.

I want to thank both of you guys. Appreciate your input very, very much!
