Having heard about the Horn Handle display I am working on, Duncan took it upon himself to send me this nice Ibberson Jack! Both handles are well done, and it would be an enjoyable knife to carry - nice pulls and snaps etc.
But for a short while, this knife will help me display the artistry that can be achieved with horn handles! I will post a picture of the display in the "Hornswoggled" thread, when it's done.
Tough to decide which handle to display - they are both nice. Usually only one side is good! It's nice that both sides of both tangs are marked, in the old way!!

Does that French soap smell as good as as that knife looks? 'Cuz that would be some mighty good smellin' soap.
Duncan, yer a good dude.

Beautiful horn! Out of curiosity, how does horn hold up over the decades? Is it stabilized in any way, and if so had that changed over time?

Thanks Paul, FBC, Jake and Tom!!
Horn has been known to dry out and shrink back a bit. Also, it doesn't accept the stabilization process well. Then there are bugs that like to eat it!!!
It is not without risk. . . . . . . .

What a great-looking Ibberson Charlie :) You and Duncan are two of our very best, fantastic stuff guys :) Superb gift Duncan :) Your horn display is going to be really something Charlie

Than will certainly be a fine addition to your display Charlie!
OUTSTANDING Duncan!!:thumbsup: Way to go Mate!!

Great stuff Duncan mate! That horn looks cut on the bias to highlight the feather effect in the horn. Nice soap too, I favour old school bar soap and dislike the modern liquid stuff, lot of very nice old fashioned bar soaps from France, Italy and now I see NZ is offering types too. Mr C must be pleased:thumbsup:

Thanks, Will

I have a bar of NZ soap at the sink where I usually wash my hands; a gift from Duncan and Sue!
I am sure I have become a cleaner person since that soap was unwrapped!!
It is delightful!!

Yes Will, the horn is cut on the bias. The "feather" on the back handle is near ideal.
They did a great job on that knife!!
