a fire kit from a friend!

Got this tin of fire making goodness in the mail late today! Dan Boles (DBOLES on BF) generously traded me the fire kit for some fatwood bundles. Thanks man!

little egg crate portion of wax, pitch, fatwood sawdust, and magbar scrapings

other than using the magrod/ferrosteel combo tonight, and making some sparks with the flint and steel, i have not had a chance to use the kit in the woods yet, hopefully i will have more pics Saturday or Sunday!

Are you sure that's jute? It kind of looks more like sisal.

That mag rod looks like the kind they used to sell at the World Survival Institute. I was lucky enough to receive one as a freebie with a video order after discussing mag blocks with Chris Janowsky (R.I.P.) on the phone.

It works OK for a tinder bundle,better stuff around for which I know you will find
I left the fatwood out of your kit for some reason!! so made it up with the mag stick.

I do not sell them but will likely put one up on a giveaway at some point
