A first glimps at the C22CF ZDP189 Pocket Lightsaber

Very cool knife. I like this along with the Gayle Bradley since they both have great grinds to them. Thanks for the review.

On a side note, I was taking a look at Spyderco's catalogs from the 90's and the Walker was released around 16 years ago. Only mention it since it, along with many others, have been around for quite some time, but seem timeless. The Walker looks like a new design now, wouldn't have guessed it was out years ago too.

Unfortunately I can't find the site that had the catalogs now. Maybe somebody can chime in.

Thank for the nice words...
I even thought they were released in 1992 by Klötzly but I can be mistaken...
I need to check my Spyderbook...
In 1996 (14 years ago) the FRN Handle AUS8 version (named C37) appeared...

Seriously, I usually prefer heavy folders with at least 3,5 inches of Blade.
This little Rascal changed my point of view.
I don't feel it as a little knife. This is a short blade with an attitude.
The Napoleon Syndrom I think. It's light as a feather, get locked with authority (not as smooth as any of my Taiwanese folders but I don't bother and I don't know why...)
Each time I cut something hard with it, the C22CF never let me down !
Really I'm impressed !
It was really a design I turned down. But since I use the more it grows on me !
The ergos are splendid !! The blade sharper than all other Spydies I own...

Who else is in love ?

It's almost a short version of the great PPT !!

There is not a lot of difference in the usable lenght of edge between both knives.
Amazing isn't it ?

Here is the butt of a bottle of Coke I have just cut through, in only one pushcut !
Like in butter ! Thin hard blade and great ergos made the trick.
I'm amazed by the raw cutting power of that little beast !
Who said Adamantium ? :-D

Notice the plastic is almost as thick as the blade of the C22... now I need to update my blog !...

Forgot to ask. Is there a liner on the non locking side? I'd imagine there is, though just hidden by the handle. Very tempting....

There is only one liner - the other side is just a carbon fiber scale. The knife is light and small.

And very solid. Carbon fiber can easily replace steel even in a fixed blade.
See Warren Thomas production and his composite blades....

Wouldn't mind a full g-10 or carbon fiber knife for messing around with. WT seems to make some cool stuff. Forget who it was, but another knifemaker makes similar half steel, half carbon fiber knives that are cool too.
