Rusty,

Is this sorta what you had in mind?

What should the Official HI Airboat have, equipment-wise?

I'd add a pair of bow-mounted (one on port, one starboard) horizontally angled 30" Sirupatis to cut a swath through the sawgrass as you cruised along. Not too PC or environmentally correct, I know, but easier for the 'Glades Rangers to find your trail after you get lost

Medication time.

If that doesn't cut it then I may have to go out in the desert tomorrow and dig up some of those green potato like root veggies.

Hey Yvsa - is that veggie the reason the Mescalero Apaches got their name?

YES RUSTY IT MADE THEM INTO ROOT RANGERS, THE FORRUNNERS TO OUR WEEKEND WONDERS !
HA HA JUST KIDDING GUYS.
RUSTY OR ANYONE DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE TERM DOG SOLDIERS CAME FROM ? I WILL GIVE YOU THE ANSWER IF YOU WANT IT.

Rusty, could be how they got their name Bro.
Or it could have been because they actually ate the base of the mescal plant itself. When we were on vacation we went back to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. It has grown tremendously!!! They have a display there and when the mescal plants are ready for harvesting an actual demonstration I understand, of how the desert ndn's harvested, trimmed, dug a pit, built a fire to coals in it and roasted the part of the plant they ate. The finished food product looks like a Giant trimmed artichoke!
Amazing! And it just shows the adaptability of humans everywhere. I would starve in the desert.

I forget who first mentioned it.. the twists and turns that a thread here at HI may take. A swamp excursion vehicle thread takes on a desert survival theme. Cool stuff

Wow! The Nepalese Navy MV 'Kali', unless I'm very much mistaken.
Brilliant artwork, and a good laugh. The twists and turns in this thread have made it a laugh from the start... Nice work guys! You cannot BUY quality stuff like this...

If we had something like that in the Delta, we would never have taken any fire 'cuz Charlie would have been laughing so hard that they couldn't hold onto much less aim a weapon.
