I am very interested in purchasing a model 8 Randall. The design of the knife is just appealing to my eye. From my understanding, the top front portion of the blade is sharpened. From a design stand point, how does the #8 sheath keep from getting the stitches cut up from the sharpended top part of the blade, or any part of the blade edge for that matter? By the way, the sheathes that you make are a work of art. Thanks, Big D1

Most sheaths have an extra piece of leather sewn between the "halves". This "welt" keeps the stitches from coming in contact with the blades edge. Improper insertion can still cause damage to a sheath or scabbard.

Hope that helps

Big d1, Thank you for you kind comments on the sheaths that we make for RMK and many others. Our main concern here at Sullivan's Holster Shop is with quality. We refuse to sacrafice quality for quantity. That is why we are currently up to as long as 4 1/2 months behind on making 1 of a kind hand cut sheaths. Sheaths that we have clicker dies for will usually come out quicker but will have the same attention to detail as the hand cut ones. Again thank you for your kind comments. Greg, Fran [wife], Danny [Greg Jr.] and Chris, the RMK sheath makers.
