A fossil for a fossil--40th birthday gift from my wife

My lovely wife surprised me with this Northwoods Norfolk whittler in mammoth ivory scales. I was so in awe of it when it slipped into my hands from the leather pocket sheath that my hands were shaking like I had too much caffeine.

Not only are the scales nice and smooth (my preference) but this is the sharpest GEC produced knife I have ever had the pleasure of owning. All three blades are shaving sharp. Springs are flush in all positions. No blade rub. No blade play.

Hope I have it for my next forty years.

Thanks for looking. And thanks to Knivesshipfree and the folks at GEC for making my 40th an extra special one.

Happy birthday!

Nice knife. Your wife has amazingly good cutlery sense. Mine just hands me a wad of cash and says, "go find one you like."

That doesn't sound like a half bad birthday gift to me!

Me: "But knarfeng's wife gives HIM a wad of cash for HIS birthday!"

Frau: "What? Who? Who are these friends of yours these days?"

I make the money. My wife keeps the books. She tells me when I can spend money on toys.
