I have a few old Peugeot Freres tools but the stamp is always a complete lion. This must be something else. There should really ve an extensive image database with old tool markings as I would also like to add this once identified. The stamping looks like the Peugeot emblem. John
Could you take some more pictures and try to get some really good quality ones of the stamp please?Hi guys, can anyone help me identify this marking? It's supposed to be a French axe but I'm not sure.

Thanks a million, guys. I wouldn't have imagined that this will start such a vast search. I'm posting some more images. To be honest I don't even know what the mark represents and I asked all my friends.Could you take some more pictures and try to get some really good quality ones of the stamp please?
The staff of Maison de l'Outil et de la Pensée Ouvrière in Troyes France has been looking into this and pouring over old books trying to find it.
They have spent more time than I would like them to, for fear this exhaustive search is going to use up all my credit with them and I won’t be able to cash in a favor when I need one. LoL
But they are still on it and requesting better photos....
Thanks but could you try again. I don’t think they worked. Thanks a million, guys. I wouldn't have imagined that this will start such a vast search. I'm posting some more images. To be honest I don't even know what the mark represents and I asked all my friends.
