Yesterday I recieved a package from my good buddy STeven among the many little treasures there was a lovely Coats Shadow Toothpick.

STeven knows I do not carry or really like slipjoints :D But I love this knife . It has a long beutiful blade it is very tight and I dig white micarta. It is also slim and lovely in the pocket.

My point of this thread is to of course thank STeven and to also point out how a gift of a knife can mean so very much in more ways than one

First of all to show friendship secondly to interest someone in custom knives or just a different genre of knives

BTW Ken Coats makes a lovely knife

Here it is picture with a Fedora 560 Recurve I picked up recently

Thanks STeven

A solid gift and outfitted with my favorite synthetic material.

You are going to enjoy carrying and using this often. The waitress will appreciate it more than your Bagwell when you need to open a pesky bag of chips. ;)

that is very nice:thumbup:

NICE knife and a nice gift. I'm not familiar with a Fedora? Is that a hand made bow? Looks SWEET!

Thanks everyone

A C thanks Mike Fedora lives near me and I have alot of his bows and I drove out there the other day to drop off a bow to get lightened and I saw this lovely recurve with a tiger wood handle and black locust limbs and couldn't resist :D

Yep, a knife is a very special gift from a friend.
Joe, the double action auto you gave me several years ago is still one of my very favorite carry knives.

STeven is a very generous person, and always willing to help a friend.

Good stuff Coop!

Thats nice! A knife is a super gift if not the best gift for a knife person. I always wanna give away nice knives to those i'm close with and if I can afford to do so sometime, i'll be all over it. I got one over the summer and it made me feel warm and fuzzy. :)

Kevin, is it a VD? I got one that summer at Blade and then my buddy down the road ordered 20 of them through me!

Joe, Ken makes a fine slip joint and I know you will love that one, especially since it is from STeven.
Your new Fedora looks great also and your shooting form is pretty good also.
Congratulations and best of luck with both blade and bow.

Yup, That bow is sweet. Just got back into Archery after 20 years. Forgot how fun it was. I went with a Mathews bow. i will however be getting a take-down recurve from a local Boyer. He too makes some really nice exotic wood bows. It is great you are passing it down. i just picked up a little bow for my grandkids. Now I just need to teach them a little patience. That it does not come all in one day. Take care and have fun with that new knife.

Very cool gift from STeven. Blade shape is graceful and a bit menacing looking at the same time. Wonderful overall shape and size. Like that micarta also. Nice job picking a slipjoint you can't resist carrying and using.

New bow is a beauty, Joe, and both you and your daughter look wicked working out. Can feel the concentration that is evident in each photo.

Beautiful knife, beautiful bow, a generous friend, a lovely daughter--nice thread, Joe. From the blunts and fletching, looks like she's tuning up for birds or small game? Fun pics--congratulations.

I can imagine! That fletching almost looks like flu-flu -- nice solution to the problem, and still plenty of pop for squirrels. Fun thread.

Nice lookin knife , love the white micarta with the loooong blade. That bow is awsome looking.
