Here are some news ones that are ready to ship. First is a large full tang Bowie, the blade is 9 1/2 inches long and 1 3/4 inches wide of Alabama Damascus. The handle is five inches long, the guard and bolster are mokume and the handle material is mammoth ivory. It balances at the face of the guard. The sheath is eastern diamondback rattlesnake, fringes with pony beads and copper cones.
Then, a matched set of drop point hunters for a father and son, the blades are 4 inches long, of Mike Norris stainless damascus in Gator Skin pattern. The handles are four and a half inches long, made of mammoth tooth with heat colored musk ox horn and brass guard, sub-hilt and bolster. The stands are caribou antler and spalted birch.
Thanks for looking, I hope you like them.

WOW!! That is a LOT of stunning work Mark. EVERYTHING looks great. I love that bowie package, and those hunters are SWEET as well. Lastly, those stands are awesome as are Coop's photos.

Thanks for posting them.

Peter

WOW, seconded!!! Your handles are just incredible!!

I really like the hunter set. Works of art and meant to be used at the same time.

Great stuff, Mark. Your handle work has always been exemplary. I can only imagine what you went through to drill & shape the mammoth tooth. :) Better you than me.

Very nice!

Mark, I look forward to seeing your threads as much as anyone's on this forum.

Just incredibly beautiful--thanks for sharing!

All 3 of the knives look great!
But......I really like that Bowie. OOOOOH Baby! that looks good.
Looks like all the handles would be really comfortable. Not that anyone would actually pick up and use one of these works of art.
As usual I like them all. Your choices and combinations of handle materials never ceases to amaze me. Keep up the good work.

Can I come up in the summer and we'll go ivory hunting together?

Gary, it's easy, I use a carbide grit blade on my band saw and a carbide grit hole saw to drill the tang hole. Regular aluminum oxide and blue zirc. belts work fine for shaping, muslin and diamond rouge for polishing. Thanks for the nice comment.

I don't get out to go ivory hunting much, with the price of air taxis and boat gas, it's much less expensive to just buy it when people find it. If you ever plan a trip up here, let me know, might be able to do something.
