You guys may get tired of me telling stories bout the kids and Buck knives, but oh well... :p

The kids live out in the country adjacent to a national forest, as some back ground. Son in Law plants a big garden every year and it is already starting to have shoots up from this spring planting.

So these two rabbits were out there feasting and he took his .22 after them. Got them both. But he said the youngest daughter ran into the house and he thought she was upset. Not.....

She came running back out with her orange 422 bucklite and proceeded to do an autopsy on both of them. Maybe that was after her mom commented on how fat one of them was.

So skinning she did go, with one tip from Dad so she wouldn't cut into any guts. She got all the parts out and after digging around, found four babys. That was exciting for her.

They said she dug around and identified all the parts. Said they were miniature versions of deer parts.

Knowing them, the rabbits are in the freezer.

Cool little kid. She is 15. I hope she makes it to Vet school.

Oh yeah,,,,she told her Dad the 422 needed sharpening :D

Awesome PR! You guys have her trained right! :D I was really hoping for pics..... :D

Sounds like the S.I.L. is a pretty good shot too!

They haven't responded yet to my question about pics... Will post them if I get them. They know to take pics...:D

But Mom (Daughter) recently had neck surgery so still not feeling up to par.

I never get tired if stories like that. Sounds like she's being brought up right.

You are a lucky Rat ,Larry. :D Fried rabbit is good eating.Grand kids are
so cool.Thanks for shairing .

Larry,

A + M or OSU, both are top notch Vet schools. I would recommend them finding a Vet so she could intern on Saturdays. Go ahead and write for the V. School information so she knows what and how to work toward good effort for getting in. Always a competition for the best......

Wasn't good enough myself, but dated one for a spell. There's just something really romantic about standing beside a woman as she sticks her hand up to the elbow in a big ole sow and pulls out dead piglets............

Cool story PR-Hope my daughter works out that way. Starts huntin season after next.

Good point 300, I sent them a note suggesting they start now looking for her a summer/weekend job at a vet.

Jeff, this is the youngest daughter of my daughter that you met. A smaller version of her mom. A tiny thing.

Fritz,,we have two Daughters that grew up hunting and fishing. Lots of great stories. Now the two granddaughters and grandson are falling right in line.

The grandkids have all taken deer. The girls (sisters) are both in competition now to see who gets the first 10 pt.
They have grown bored at shooting 8pts. Of course Mom still holds it over them, and the rest of us for that matter, with her 15pt.

But that youngest one is the first one of them to jump in and get her hands bloody. I told the story here previously of laying down one of the S30V 110's and it going awol. She had grabbed it up and was cutting open the gizzard of a turkey hen I shot. Was pretty funny.

Life is good....:D

Oh yeah Fritz,,,, The girls shoot a 30-06 or a .308, depending on whether they are hunting a stand with Mom or Dad.

The little one, as I call her, is almost 5 ft tall and might weigh 95 pounds. :D

Thanks for sharing Ratty,

Some of the best things in life are free. Sounds like the things you taught your kids are being passed down to their kids, it just doesn't get any better than that my friend.
