I made this helmet a few years ago for a comic book fanatic that wanted something unusual for a holloween costume party. Its made from 16 gauge mild steel the back of the helmet pivots forward to allow wearer access, thats a cosmotology maniquine its sitting on which is also what I used to develop the pattern from.

Thanks for looking

Nice!

Some of my SCA friends have had me fix their armor in the past. But they know how to make the really impressive stuff.

Thanks, don't I wish but thats a whole other set of tools. I like a compltely new project once I a while for a distraction and do see what I can do with what I have. This was made using a tree stump dished out, a large ball pien hammer, acouple of chisles I made for shaping, one end of a 100 lb dumbell from a scrap yard and a MIG welder aside from the band saw thats it.

yeah I know. I have some neat stuff in the welding shop to use to build helmets and armor, but the helms that I have been making look like I took a plasma cutter to a pony keg.
