Walked around a renaissance fair today & by serendipity
while examining some of the Generation 2 blades
displayed at the "Imperial Weapons" booth
found myself talking (I eventually discovered)
to the head of the Generation 2 company.

First, he's very personable & easy to talk to,
and, thankfully, not a slick fast-talker salesman.
I had never held one of these swords before.
Although it was only holding & examining, not handling,
& I'm much more familiar with 'Eastern' blades,
I have to say that these blades look good for fit & finish
(they neither have nor look chrome plate  ).
And the grips feel good.
I'll be keeping my eye toward these from now on.

BTW, hand-forged & ground, flat grind, hardened,
satin {iirc} finished, polished down to a sharp edge,
scabbard included

He seems truly interested in producing good blades,
that are, when appropriate, historically accurate.
He also mentioned that there is some knowledge crossover
between his own Gen-2 (ImperialWeapons),
and Last Legend (katanas)---run by a close business friend.
