In about an hour Goldie and I will set out for the SHOT show. Six days of working with manufacturers to arrange for about a dozen new A. G. Russell knives and a few exclusives from their own knives.

I will be out of touch for the next ten days then it will take the better part of a day to get rid of 10 days of crap from the china mailers of stock, and male growth products. talik to you when I get back

Have a fun and safe trip. Can't wait to see this year's new product lineup!

Please excuse my ignorance, but are you THE Mr. Russell???
Click on his name, then select "A.G. Russell's Homepage".

Already saw the CRKT Ringers well 2 of them at least and I gotta say they are sweet little knives. Good luck and have fun.

Yep, the real deal. The man has forgot more about knives than most of us will ever know, and you can find him right here on BFC. Well not for the next 10 days, but after that. How friggin cool is that?

That's awesome. I've always enjoyed looking at the AG Russel collaberations. I've never really enjoyed paying for them, but they always look fantastic! :D

W O W ! !
What a show. I will post a full report in a few days, after I pull togeather all the information. A. G.

Oh man!!! This is great. I feel like I am talking to a celebrate! Funny enough, I was just about to post, asking everyone where I could locate a "One hand Knife".

I've had the good fortune to accompany some long time collectors and some makers as they walk through a show, and it's a real education. I've even had the chance to meet and talk to AG at Blade Show. To walk through a show and see it through the eyes of AG Russell would be a huge thrill.

AG, I'm really looking forward to the full report.

In 1980 my son got a full ride scholarship to play football at the University of Arkansas. During his first week of orientation my wife and I stayed in Fayetteville, Arkansas to get the feel of the town and make sure My son got settled. We were site seeing one day and ran across a little sign on the side of the road that said "A.G.Russell" knives and I immediately turned down the little road on his property. He was in Springdale at that time and had about 2 or 3 buildings on his property and a showroom in one of them. I had purchased a Benchmade knife from him about a year earlier and broke the tip off (about 1/2 inch) searching for termites in my attic and apparently hit a nail.

I was at the showroom counter buying one of his 'Bird and trout" knives (Still sharp as a scalpel) and asked the lady at the counter if she could see if my knife could be reground to get a tip back on it. She said she would find out and left the counter. I had parked my truck in their gravel parking lot (A white crew cab dually) and noticed a man looking at it. Much to my surprise the lady at the counter walked up to him and started talking to him and he came in to the showroom and introduced himself to me...It was A.G.Russell.

He said, "Wow...You came all the way from California to buy a knife from me" and we all laughed. He talked to me about my truck and showed me where his warehouse and 'Factory was and he was just starting to get big enough for a move to a larger building...but everything he needed was on his property.

We talked about my son and other stuff for about a half hour and he said to leave my knife and address with the salesgirl and he would fix it. How often does the owner of a company talk to you for a 1/2 hour in todays time.

I left my knife and a blank check with the sales girl and told her to bill me for the cost of resharpening and the postal cost to ship it to me and we left to go meet my son for dinner.

About 4 weeks later I get my knife in the mail...Sharper and more shapely than when I bought it.....with a sharp tip....and wrapped around it in the box was the blank check with a note from Mr. Russell..."We warranty our knives Forever, Period"...Withn a smiley face on the note......Since then I have purchased about 25 knives from him and am his biggest advertisement in So CAL. Just thought I'd share...........
