I was browsing A.G. Russel just now and found this. It is 2.5" long closed with a 1 7/8" VG10 blade. It has a titanium handle, and is just 0.5oz. These are some high quality materials, albeit in a diminutive knife, but the price is just $25. Have any of you handled this knife? I've been looking for a quite small knife, and this definitely fits that requirement, but also has great steel and a titanium handle, and thus I am assuming the handle is also nice. The price just seems a bit wacky, so I'm sort of cautious as to whether or not I should order it.

It a hell of a buy on a great knife. Nothing fancy but very well made with good steel. The Featherlights are great for the price as well.

They're really nice little knives. I love both the mini lockback, and if you want something even smaller, the pen knife.

Don't let the low price fool you, these are definitely good quality pieces, and very handy. If you're looking for a small knife, this is hard to beat.

Yeah, I've been looking for something with a small blade, and this blade is VERY small. Under 2", which is still perfectly fine for any chore I'll be tasked with, including the following intense activities:

Opening mail
Opening boxes
Cutting random threads
Cutting paper to see how sharp it is....every 10 seconds to verify

I always end up wondering if I'm wasting money buying all of these knives to do these very basic chores, but hell, it's just another $25.

I bought one and gave it to a friend. He's been carrying it for a few years now in his pocket. The coins and keys in his pocket have dinged up the titanium handles into a uniform textured looking patina. I think it actually looks better now than when it was new.

It is a quality knife, albeit small. Seeing both VG-10 and titanium in its product description, I fooled myself into thinking something grand was coming to me in the mail. Alas, a tiny little box shows up. Duh, what was I expecting for 2.5 inches?

It's one of those optical illusion blades that looks like the blade is so much bigger than the handle. Looking it over when it was brand new, something about it didn't seem like it was really a pocket knife. Maybe for lack of wood, bone, g10, or micarta slabs--it doesn't say on it's own "I AM A KNIFE!" It looks more like something from a toiletry bag, you know, along the lines of nail cutter, tweezers, and nippers. It's all metal and shiny.

It is a good knife though and my friend is very happy with it. I would easily buy one again to keep or to give as a gift.

I think that one of the reasons the knife is affordable despite the premium materials is that it uses such a small amount of those materials. Plus, AGR knows how to provide a good bargain.

I got one last year and pimped it , turned out nice but not sure where I put the pics so I cant show.

Nice enough little knife , keyword little.

IMO too small for anything related to my line of work and I would not depend on it for my primary EDC but it does make a nice gent's knife or office knife , a good knife for any enviroment where the freaks might get upset about you carrying a knife.

I like a really a flat knife in this size since it is so pocketable and can be used with precision. Not for any hard use, but occasional random small tasks. The OP mentioned opening mail, boxes, etc. It would work well for that. Most knives in this size, including the one I carry, are made of relatively soft stainless steel and dull quickly, especially when used on cardboard, even to just cut the packing tape on a cardboard box. I won't let mine touch cardboard any more because it is just not worth the sharpening time. The VG-10 blade in the AGR knife should hold an edge much better. I really should get one myself. I have given one of the ultimate pen knives as a gift.

'nuf said....this is a LITTLE blade. I was impressed several years ago when mine arrived. Stuck it in my wallet and have carried it ever since. That is, I always have it with me (ultimate backup) but due to its size I almost never pull it out. My Micarta blade gets much more use, still I know it is there if needed.

That's my main reason for wanting a small knife. Most of the time, I don't need a larger knife than this, and a lot of people around here are a bit...well, not UP TO DATE on the uses of a knife.

I have one too, it's a great little knife.

Highly recommended, especially for the price!

Wow, I ordered a catalog from A.G. Russell yesterday afternoon, and now this thread shows up. . . these are cool little knives. Now I have to get me one.

Well, as I said, I ordered the knife Wednesday and it arrived today via USPS. Very nice, very small & very sharp! Fit & finish were excellent. I was also surprised that it came with a leather pocket case - it wasn't mentioned on their website. All in all one of my better purchases (value for the dollar).

great just great now there's another knife i'll have to get. i've got to quit reading posts like this.
