A. G. Russel jumps in

440B is a good SS. Randall has been using the stuff for as long as anyone can remember.

I like how they give no blade thickness and give you the weight "in scabbard"!!

They have advertised this knife as vague as possible.... I'm gonna guess its pretty wimpy....

And, it's made in Italy.

Yeah, they have an Italian company, Coltelli A. G. Russellini. :D It might be a decent camp knife, although it looks a bit flimsy...

That's because the cho creeped all the way off the end of the blade. And, where are the torture knives?

I got your joke, Brian....nice one...;)

A.G. Russell is 5 miles down the street here....should I go and ask him?

:D

Sure, Dan. He's a nice guy, actually. At least he was when I met him in the 70's before he was rich and famous.
But hey, when I get R & F, I'm gonna turn into a complete @$$hole.

Hey Dan,

You must be in almost the same neck of the woods as my inlaws! They live in Rogers, and my Father in Law and I go to AG Russel every time I visit. BTW, I have held those "khukuries" and they really just feel like very light machetes. I wasn't impressed but then again I was stacking them up against my HI Khuks...

:D ;)

Brian = LOL...!

I have met A.G. Russell - he sent me the free pass to Blade that I ended up giving to Mark Nelson.

They have a pretty decent line-up of knives. Unfortunately, many are made outside the US. But they still have a bunch that are made here.

Need to get me a Hobo one of these days....

That's not a khuk. Just a knife resembling one in tribute. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". I even have a "khuk" machete- chinese made- came from CheaperThanDirt.com for like $6. A.G. Russell's a good maker, but that's no Malla. My .02.

I have been happy with all of the A.G. Russell slipjoints I have bought, but I think they should just stay with the folder market. They make some hunting knives that look pretty good, but if it were me, I would just stay with one thing. I think they overextend themselves a bit a try to have a finger in everything. It is probably a good knife for light work or even as a fighter, but not a real khuk.
