A.G Russell Beak and Japanese Hunting Knife

I have the Beak (used to be Eagle's Beak, I don't know whats up with that) and carry it nearly every day. The fit and finish on mine is beyond what I'd expect from a knife in this range and I find the hawkbill very efficient for most of my regular knife chores. I used to dislike them so call me a convert I guess. :)

I bought the Japanese hunting knife for a friend's birthday as well. It is a slicer, plain and simple. Almost certainly the sharpest knife I've ever handled right out of the box. You'll definitely want to be using the rust free that A.G. sells, or another rust preventative, if you get it.

no comment on the Beak, but I have a couple of the different Japanese hunting knives from AG Russell made from the Hitachi white steel and blue steel. The build quality is excellent, the materials are beautiful, and the out-of-the-box edges are incredibly sharp.

I've been shopping for this style myself, but would personally go with Kanetsune due to the greater number of options:
Seems like they actually make those AG Russell knives.

The second looks exactly like Kanetsune Take, wich I owned once. Extremely light knife, but the blade had small imperfection (dent or such if I remember correctly) in the blade I had to fix. It was a handy knife, but I prefer scandi grind for such small knife if used outdoors.
