Who has one and what do you think? I've been thinking of picking one up but don't know anyone that has one. Feedback or comments appreciated.

Thanks

Interesting looking knife ,
I like the lightwieght concept but in the long run with no liners ( or washers ? ) how will it hold up as far as blade play.

IMO , also that is darn pricey for the materials used.

It looks just like a Case Sodbuster with a lockback instead of a simple slipjoint. And with a fancier handle. The basic construction and overall design are otherwise identical. The Sodbuster is a tried and true pattern. I've never had any problems with mine.

Here's a crummy pic of a Sodbuster:

(Note the price)

I think it's a traditional pattern, and is made by several companies, so no allegation of design thievery intended.

If you do a search on the A.G. Russell forum at Knifeforums, you'll find 4 or 5 threads about it. One of them has some pics of the knife in comparison to a 110.

IIRC, those Brutes are Hand Made. Probably in Japan, but that's not a problem in my book. Either way, that makes a difference, when looking at the price. Good deal, if you ask me.

I really like the overall design. 3" drop point and lightweight.
handle looks comfortable. no crazy stylization to get in the way of work.

I think I've read a post where A.G. said they're hand made here in the U.S. There were other Brutes made in Japan that were priced about half of what these are, but they are no longer available.
