A.G. Russell has been working with some of the best custom slipjoint and lockback makers in the U.S. and Japan toward a personal project that will be shared at his second annual knife show this July in Rogers, Arkansas. Over twenty makers invovled. Pre-ban elephant ivory scales used with U.S. makers, mammoth ivory used with Japan makers.

I offered to help him post these for all to share in this forum. Here are some of the earlier designs that have been completed and photographed. More to come.

Nice collection started, A.G.

Folks, y'all need to get over to the Russell show next month and see these in person.

Joe, thanks for the post!

I really like these folders. A.G. has a knack for getting quality knives made.
Don is the striker pin there for a blade stop? I havent seen one before on a slippie

Bruce, yes it's the blade stop, A.G.'s design. I've also never seen it on a slip joint but it
works great and eleminates the edge ever making contact with the spring.

I've gazed at those blueprints for a long time!
Awesome:)
I feel smarter already.

What a cool  project.
AG seems to always have something interesting going on.

Really the the overall profile on that Hanson.

A.G. has another image ready to post. This one is by Rusty Preston. Toothpick folder with guard, which A.G. states, "Fantastic fit and finish, the guard fits so precisely that you find no movement open or closed."

That is a nice looking Toothpick. I'm not a folding guard fan but that really looks like it belongs there.

Neither am I, but I'd be tempted to buy that one...and if the guard partially set in a relief cut in the end of the bolster, and the was itself partially relieved to fit flush with the sides of the bolster, I would surely by one.

As it is, I've been in the market for Canoe...

Really enjoyed examining this collection at AG's Show and the knives are amazing.

I especially like the Hanson.
