A.G. Russell Featherlite

I have one of the general purpose drop point models. They are very light, and can be opened and closed with either hand (with a little practice). The lock mechanism took me a day or two to get used to, but it works fine. It has the elongated thumb stud hole, I didn't notice it any different than using a Spyderco.

You don't really don't notice how long the blade is until you open the knife. Nice knife. It gets put in my edc rotation.

I'd give it a thumbs up. If for some reason you don't like it, AG Russell has a very good return policy and customer service.

Had forgotten about that knife; had one for a long time; it is a nice knife, not sure why I haven't carried it for a long time, guess just have too many knives!!! Certainly can recommend it.

I messed with one in-store, but the handle wasn't for me, too thin....

while they have a great return policy, I have seen the returned knives in person and they are too forgiving.

I have one that I got for about $20 on D'bay and it's a really good EDC knife. Light weight, decent steel, thin, easy to manipulate with one hand. I don't like that joints are pinned and not screwed (for mainenance), and the handle feels a little "plastic-y". Still, it's a good knife and I carry mine quite a bit around the house taking care of "honey-do's" on the weekend.

Personally, I don't like Zytel handles.. Functionality wise they are fine, but I don't like the feel.. For $50 you are getting a Japan made, VG-10 bladed, AG Russel backed knife.. Seems like a pretty good deal.. If you order it and don't like it, you can return it or trade it off on the exchange..

I ordered one (VG-10) and it was defective, the lock had a crack in it. I returned it, having to pay for return shipping. So much for customer service. Aside from that annoyance, the spring closure is very loose. Nice if you want to flip it open I guess, but don't carry it in your pocket. I learned that the hard way. At least it is sharp. Mine is back in the box, pretty much useless. No plans to buy another AG Russell.

I have a clip point in ATS-34. Very light and flat. I almost forget that I'm carrying it. It took a little practice to work the lock with one hand, but I like how it is ambidextrous.

Mine does have a tiny bit of front-back wiggle. Not a big deal for me since it's not a hard use knife.

Thumbs Up from me. I love the slender design and one-hand action. It fits in my pocket much better than other popular one-hand knives with similar size blades.

If you don't like the plastic handles, the lock design and size is the same as the Original One-Hand knife (top knife), although that's a much more expensive product. There was also a factory-made one hand knife with metal handles (bottom knife); these sometimes show up on eBay.

Very light and thin. You will forget it is in your pocket.
I carry mine when I am wearing pockets that zip up so I dont scuff up my clips on my other knives I carry. I give it a thumbs up. Get one and enjoy it.
Good Luck. Kevin

The Featherlite is a great little knife. I like it a lot. I am retired and find myself wearing lite weight shorts and sweats a lot as it gets hot in TX and I drop the Featherlite in my pocket and do not know it is there until I need it. I have a lot of knives but this one gets a lot of pocket time. Nice lite and sharp knife and holds a very good edge and sharpens nicely and easily, mostly on my Sharpmaker. I bought my first one a few years ago and ordered a back up but sent it back because of some play in the lock. They sent me another one and it was fine and they did not charge me a shipping fee. Good people to deal with.
