Anyone have experience with the A.G. Russell FeatherLite with the clip point blade. I'm thinking of buying one, but would first like to hear from others who have already bought one. Thanks.

I had the FeatherLite w/general utility blade, not clip pt, a couple years back. Great little folder, underrated design (simple, elegant, yet fully functional), and underrated lock -- very snug and simply will NOT pull loose, and is far more secure than lockbacks w/a conventional locking bar. The Zytel one-piece handle is also much tougher than one might assume. After about 7 months of hard use, it still showed no signs of weakening/parting, in part due to its thick pivot pin.

I had the AUS8A blade, before their intro of ATS34. Performed well. One of the best folders for the money, IMO. AG Russell takes its heat treat seriously, so you can expect good performance from either steel, tho' probably better edge-holding in the ATS34.

Only thing to consider is that its handle is *very* slender and compact. It gives great cutting power for its size. It's light, short and thin enough to slip in your wallet w/o any bulge (not that I ever took it thru an airpt or anything like that

). I have medium-small hands and it fit fine. But if you have big hands, it might be hard to grip nicely.

Keep in mind, though, AG Russell has *the best* guarantee around. If you want to return it *for any reason whatsoever, at any time* you can return it for a full refund of its original price. Can't go wrong w/that.
