Has anyone tried the stag handled/leather sheathed Boker Plus series Gnome and/or Rhino A.G. Russell has on their site? They are a bit pricier than the Micarta handled units, but both are 'in stock', whereas only the regular Gnome is available from stock (The regular Rhino is supposedly due by month's end.). At any rate, I have the regular Gnome 'on the way' - and the Rhino 'on order'.

Unlike the regular Kydex sheath/Micarta handled Gnome, the upscale European stag handled and leather sheathed Gnome is not suitable for use as a neck knife, according to A.G.Russell. I actually had the upscale variants 'on order' briefly - until I found the regular units on their site. I wonder how the upscale Rhino is... it is in stock and $18 more... Anyone try one of these 'dress-up' models yet? Thanks!

PS I changed from the OOS regular Rhino to the stag/leather Rhino - I'll answer my own question in 10 days or so... my first order from these folks, too.

Congrats! A.G. Russell is pure class. He maintains a subforum on the other knife forum in case you have any questions.

I posed a few questions in the A.G.R. suforum 'Questions?' a week ago - as yet, still no answers. My order arrived quickly enough. Below is a quickie comparative photo of my Boker Pry-Mate, Boker Plus Gnome, and Boker Plus Stag Rhino:

The quality of the 'Plus' line pair, no matter the country of origin - and neither the knives or their boxes were marked with such, is quite good. They were nimbered on their spines, too.
