Did you see us featured on the Jay Leno show last night? He thought he was putting us down, BUT, we have been hearing nothing but excitement all day from customers, family, and friends.

I wish there were some way to let Mr. Leno know that all 47 of the staff here want to thank him for putting us on national television.

To all of our friends: Merry Christmas, or Happy Hannakah (?) etc.

I knew I should have stayed up later. Went to bed early for a change. Can't buy better advertising than that I guess. Wish'd I'd seen it so I could know the details of why he'd want to put you down but so long as its added to the business he can keep that opinion huh? Just goes to show you that Madona was right. Any publicity is good publicity; just that much better when its free.

Good show.

I did see that!

Funny thing -- my first reaction was, "Santa's got pretty good taste in knives. I hope he brings me one of those, too." :D

Yeah, tell us more!

That is, if you're not too stuck up to speak to us now that you're a television celebrity.... :D

I saw it. It was his Monday night "Headlines" segment (best part of his show IMHO). They show funny ads or misprints, even pics from newspapers that aren't as intended.

It was an AG Russell ad in a magazine.

It was a pic of a nice FB, possibly damascus (sorry I drink by midnight most nights) and it said AG Russell in huge letters, and the caption said "what santa wants this year" or something similar.

Jay said "oh yeah, santa wants a big knife for christmas" and he and the crowd laughed. I don't think they understood it was implied that santa was the "man of the house".

Anyway, some decent free advertising. It really reminded me of a leno stand-up intro to a show just after Mission Impossible 2 came out, where he said "with a multi-million dollar budget like for a film like this, you'd think they'd give Tom Cruise better glasses than some that look like they're from the gas station". I thought it was hilarious for a very different reason than the audience: the glasses were Oakley Romeo's, which as we know are about as good as eyewear gets (I have x metal XX's myself, very similar), but the space age look of the Romeo's got leno's writers thinking they were junk.

Missed it :(.

Maybe it'll show up on mytubes.

Merry Christmas to you and the family.

I go to sleep by 10pm, usually. So, I did not see it. That is cool that you got some free publicity!!

Just rec eived my Texas Toothpick from you yesterday. What a great knive.

Glad you like it. We are designing lots of new knives for 2007, etc. Being able to have Phil Gibbs join us after Camillus let him go is going to be wonderful for us. He is in the process of putting dozens of my designs into CAD.

all the best,

A. G.

AG you are single handedly responsable for starting my addiction to sharp pretty things! this was under control untill i found BF. many thanks lol.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Wow, that is cool! Did anybody record it? Put it on YouTube!

I am a television celebrity too, but only on local community access television (a selectmen's meeting -- I saw the camera crew but I didn't realize it was going out live....) That's got me beat.

Don't know about the average member of the Leno audience, but this Santa really does want a Christmas knife from AG Russell's!

If no one has a clip of the show, how 'bout a copy of the print ad that was referenced?

My television fame is even more lame than Cougar Allen's - I was in a commercial for some pizza place (that I've forgotten the name of) in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Never saw the commercial myself, but people told me about for years after.

That is fantastic! I missed it as I usually am crashed by then. If I was Santa, I would want a big knife from A.G.!!!!!!

I was one of 8 people who turned 2 stock talons into show cars in 3 days for a Global/Men TV show called "war of the wheels". Been on TV lots before that...my latest plan is that I'm currently trying to go pro at poker :)

I'd post some pics of the cars but my photobucket account got banned LOL

Almost started a thread on the same topic this morning. I'm glad to see A. G. Russell get some free network advertising! :D

I had the show on in the background while I was cleaning the kitchen last night. I saw the ad and got all excited about the knife and the fact that they showed A. G. Russell's name clearly. My girlfriend gave me that look  for being more excited about the knife than the joke:p
