Does anybody have this knife? What do you think of it? I'm thinking of picking up one for myself as a graduation present. How is the quality?

I've been drooling over these since I first saw them, love the traditional handle with the leaf style blade.

If it's anything like the rest of AG's slip joints it will be of pretty good quality, around the Schatt & Morgan level but with premium steel.

I'd have bought one a while back, but I don't care for the big etch on the blade. Seems that way with a lot of the better quality production slipjoints, like most of the Queens I looked at. It's a shame to ugly up a pretty blade like that.

If you want a similar knife and save some money for graduation parties, look at the queen large toothpick. Very similar, but you can get it in D2 for considerably cheaper.

I've got the A.G.Russell toothpick. Very high quality. Extremely good fit & finish. Be sure you realize how BIG it is. :)

Thanks for the help all. I looked at the Queen large toothpick, but there is something about the AG Russell one that speaks to me. Actually I already have a Laguiole that is very similar, but this one is calling my name. Maybe I'll have someone buy this for me.

What about Cabela's Buck 110? The 110 has never really appealed to me, but it's grown on me after seeing pictures here for several years. How is the fit and finish on this knife?

If you mean Cabela's Alaskan Guide 110, it kicks butt. Probably the best value in a "premium steel" knife on the market right now.

Mine is absolutely rock solid and came with a super sharp edge.

I thought that was neat, the way this typical American style knife and that typical French style knife have the same basic handle and blade shapes. The biggest difference is in the thickness of the handles, that's all.

How thick are the handles on the AG Russell knife?
