I just ordered the Barlow from A.G.'s site.:D It comes with a 1095 main clip and small pen blade. Yellow green smooth bone scales. I will post pictures and my impressions of it when it comes in.

Hi,

Just popped over to look at it. I will be waiting to hear how you like this one. This sounds like a good line for A.G. I'll be very interested to see the rest of the line.

I was admiring that knife in my recent AGR catalog. It's a beaut.

Yeah... I also noticed that in the latest catalog. It'll be interesting to hear what the quality is like. It's a good-looking knife and it could turn into a popular line.

Very cool! You can see the knife here, guys.

Notice this part: "The is the first in what we plan as a series of several models of A. G. Russell™ Working Man's™ knives."

Based on the photo, I'm almost certain that knife is made for AG Russell by Boker. It looks identical in every respect to my Russell barlow, also made by Boker. The only difference is the Russell has stainless steel bolsters instead of nickel silver.

If so, it will be a quality slipjoint, but a little pricey compared to the Russell's.

Its hard to beat a fine 2 blade Barlow in 1095 hi-carbon steel dressed out in green-yellow smooth bone scales crafted by seasoned German cutlers, coupled up with A. G. Russell's guarantee for that price!.

A fine Balow slippy really is a hard use tool from way back when. I look forward to your review mmarkh. :)

Besides everything here mentioned, the size caught my eye.
Not a Barlow guy,but I'll be watching to see the others in this series

1095 done to a nice hardness in a very nice handle for about the price of a Case Tru-Sharp Barlow. Just the right size on those blades, too. I'm maybe gonna have to get one of those AG's.

Anyone know if their backsprings will be stainless? I like how the backsprings on Case's CV knives are stainless.

Hope the pictures show the hues/shading/character in the bone. Nice stuff. If you are hankerin' for a Barlow (or another Barlow), you would be well advised to consider this one. A.G. said these are part of his new line of "working man's knives". I'm an old retired geezer and haven't hit a lick of work in a good while but I still got me one. :D

Themes sure pretty scale coves Rob. I think I might get me one of them AG Barlows. Hope they send it because I don't work either.....

Gotta say I'm not too keen on the yellow handles. But I'll probably buy one anyway. :D

I just got my Barlow today. It is stamped A.G. Russell on one side of the main clip and Solingen Germany on the other side. Both blades are very sharp and the walk and talk is good. Backsprings are flush in all positions and the fit and finish is excellent. No gaps at the bone to bolster. The yellow bone is also very nice. This will get a lot of pocket time.
