Does anybody have experience with A. G. Russell's products? Is the quality there? I visited their site yesterday and there was a bowie that caught my eye? I wanted to get some opinions, I would rather wait that shell out the money and get burned. Thanks for the help.

They are one of the best to deal with. You can probably find better prices elsewere, but they have great customer service. They also have some knives only available at their site. I have bought from them before and was very satisfied and on one occasion I called to return an item that I changed my mind on, and they nicely refunded my money...Ed.

Very reputable dealer.Have no fear.

Actually I was wondering about their exclusive products. The knife I was looking at is made under the A. G. Russell brand? Opinions?

AG Russell is a good dealer to do business with. Prices are generally a few bucks higher, but worth it for the exceptional service they provide. As I understand it, it is the oldest mail order dealer around...something like 30 or 40 years. Also, the knives that have AG Russells name on them seem like good stuff. I dont think he would risk his reputation by putting his name on junk. Deal with him, and rest easy...you wont get burned.

kamagong,

If you are not satisfied with any blade you bought there, you can always return in for a refund. That's the AG Russell I know.

The A.G. Russell stuff that I've handled has been of very good quality. Their customer service is also the tops. The knives that bear his name are also usually the kinds of things that can't easily be found elsewhere, and are almost always a very good value. A.G. also has his own forum on KFC, so you can ask him questions yourself.

If you buy something from A.G. Russell and you don't like it, you can send it back for a full refund or exchange, no questions.

I don't recall when A.G.Russell opened his business, but my first puchase was at the shop, and I was driving a new 1955 Plymouth. His prices are a little bit higher than some, but the difference supports one of the best customer service departments around, any business, anywhere. Russell is very "name conscious", the mark of a man with great integrity. He stands fully behind what he sells. When TRADING knives with him, be sure you know as much about the knives as he does (not easy). He _is_ a knife trader, after all

i will second what everyone has said here.i live just a few miles from his showroom, and im a frequent visitor/customer.

he doesnt sell sh!tty knives.he has a return policy second to none.if your not happy, send it back.he will give you your money back.this guarantee even applies for used knives which he sells in his showroom.

sure,he charges more, but whatever you buy is guaranteed, the service is excellent, and you will be happy.

The Russell's are the best! Great folks to deal with! Ditto what everyone else has said about quality, prices & customer service. I still shop there... and it's been over 20 years since I purchased my first knife via his catalog.

A. G. also has the "Cutting Edge" a periodical catalog of knives on consignment;
you can find just about anything there from high end collectables to old factory users, it's a fascinating catalog to look at even if you dont buy anything.

I have been shopping from A.G. Russell for several years, both from the store and through the mail, although not as freqently as I would like! Customer service is TOPS, and I find his prices frequently lower than the shopping-mall knife shops.

Many of the knives stamped A.G. Russell are contracted from makers in Japan or elsewhere. The quality is very good, and if A.G. puts his name on it, that's good enough for me!

Best Wishes,
Bob W

I've ordered from A.G. on a couple of occasions and found his quality to be top notch. He also usually offers a few interesting pieces that might be difficult to locate elsewhere. However, his prices are a bit on the steep side

He has designed or contracted for unique versions or completely unique knives. But even if you aren't ready to buy yet, browse his website for the encyclopedic articles and information available.
