A gap in my SAK scales

Bought my first full sized SAK online. I already own a Victorinox Classic SD.

I know they all come with a scratch or two, but this one came with a gap between the knife body and the scales.... I can get a paper to get in between the scale (handle) and the rest of the knife. Is this something I should be worried about? Will it get worse with time?

This knife is a Huntsman which I got at a good 50% discount. I may be able to have it replaced, but usually I see knives in worse shape than this...and I can order only one replacement...
I ordered a Tinker once, it had the same problem...and the replacement was worse, so I had to return it.

I picked up this knife for half the price, so I really won't want to lose it unless this is going to be a major problem with the knife in future

Thanks all :)

Generally you can give the scales a bit of a squeeze in a vice or just body weight to tighten them up. Since the scales are friction fit, I would bet thats pretty common, and wouldn't worry about it at all. It won't cause a problem.

It's a SAK, use the liven' heck out of it!:thumb up:

At a later date if it reeeeealy bugs you, just replace the scales. You can go with another color or even the glow in the dark scales. Or you can make some nice wood handles for it.

Thanks chaps! I think I finally have an SAK that's a keeper! Wanted one of these for a long time now
