Does anyone make a generic pocket clip that can be added to any knife with a lanyard hole at the pommel? As in, it uses one machine screw through a lanyard hole with tapered nuts to attach it to a knife?
Gerber, a long time ago when all were USA made, came out with a pocket clip for the LST that mounted through the lanyard hole. Great Idea, problem was it was plastic, as was the little tapered nut and it stripped out. Good idea, bad materials.
One of the potential problems with this type of mount is that the clip will want to rotate in the lanyard hole. The clip works like a lever arm.
I have one of the Gerber LSTs with the clip as NMpops mentioned. I did have to send in for a replacement because the threads were buggered up. Haven't had any problems with it since. They had a pretty good design because I don't have problems with it rotating. It got EDC'd for many years.... then that fateful day came when an AG Russell catalog showed up in my mail box. It was all downhill from there. Sorry about the little digression.
Just pulled the LST out to look at the design. The handle profile where the clip attaches has a slight flair in the design/shape, this keeps it from rotating. I also had replaced the original screw with a SS one.
