Several months ago I posted a thread about my Grandpa's old Frontier Powder Horn stockman knife. A member here offered to send me one to give to him but I politely declined as I figured the staff at the nursing home would just take it again. Since then I've picked up a couple of the Powder Horns in the jigged patern and one in yellow. The member reached out again with his offer. I offered to pay for it but he was having none of it. So today a package arrive from Finland, along with a coin and a postcard of the indigenous wildlife.

Big shout out to Will Power Will Power for the gift!!! Thank you for your generosity. I even pulled the old man's knife out to open the package it came in.

Glad you liked it and got it.....(another knife I gave to a Forum Member has yet to arrive and I think is a goner)

Yes it's the Red Squirrel they change coat colour in winter and are very different in manner and behaviour than your American Grey squirrel tree rat:D:D)

Those Frontiers might be a bit rough&ready in finish but tough, appealling and take a good edge:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks everyone, Will

I'm going to piggyback in this thread. I'm the other forum member.

A couple months back, I had been chatting with Will about some GEC releases, and grabbed a couple knives he wanted to send to him since they're not the easiest to get from Finland. Shortly after they arrived, he thanked me for helping and let me know that he'd be sending me a small gift to show his appreciation. A while went by, and he asked if I had received it, and I replied that I hadn't. We were wondering if it had gotten lost, although I once had a package take a really long time to arrive from Europe, sitting in customs for 3 weeks or so.

Saturday it finally arrived. An envelope containing a very nice postcard with a note from Will, a really neat coin, and then, woah, mama! A Northfield #68 White Owl in cocobolo with the bail removed that Will used and loved. Will knows I love the White Owl. I'm a sucker for a pocketable pen knife. My first was a Tidioute, and recently got ahold of a rare GEC brand 68. Now I've got a Northfield, too! I'm also a sucker for cocobolo and cloud shields. The cocobolo on this one has got some really nice age, and were it not for that red/purple cocobolo hue, this one has gotten so dark you might think it's ebony.

Thank you so much, Will. This knife topped off my small collection quite nicely. I'll have to get a shot of all 3 when I can this week or next.

What a great gift! That white owl is a hoot, if I may say so. Glad it made it after so long a wait.

Yes, I'm glad it got through, kind of lost hope there for a while. Motto: patience is a virtue :D

The coin's from Thailand
