A gift from a new Blade Forums friend! What do you think!

I recently bought a knife from one of the forum members. After buying his knife we began exchanging e-mails and developed a friendship. He told me he was starting to make knives and wanted to make one for me as a gift and send it to me. The only requirement he asked was to put it to hard use and keep him updated on it's performance. My knife came in the mail today and I was pleasantly surprised at what he sent. It is what I consider to be an ideal size as my only other hunting knife is almost the same in length. It has beautiful polished canvas micarta handles with foliage green liners. The blade measures 3 1/4" and the OAL is 6 1/2". It came with a lanyard which I found acted as an extension of the grip. I like the finish on the blade especially the way the top portion of the blade looks. When my wife came home today she immediately noticed it and complemented on what a nice looking knife it was. My friend is also making a sheath for it which will come as soon as it's finished. I was stunned by this act of kindness and will always cherish this knife. I plan on passing this on to my grandson. I think this will make a great knife for hunting and I also plan on carrying it when I'm camping or in the woods. I really think this knife would even work filleting fish as well. Just a good, all around knife that won't be too bulky to carry. The blade steel is 1085 and it has a very sharp edge on it. I've always felt that knife people are some of the kindest, friendliest people there are. I've included pictures of my knife but I'm disappointed with my picture taking ability since I have a new camera I'm still trying to figure it out. This is just the 6th knife he's made so far and I'm really impressed!

Very nice blade-work and I like the sculpted handle. Looks like he's ready for the Knifemakers Section of this forum.
...and yes, there are nice people here. You'll meet quite a few.

Wow, that's a mighty fine looking blade. I especially like the finish on the unsharpened portion of the blade tang.

That looks awesome and will be handy. I have been looking at more smaller knives for edc and such.

Jim, thanks for posting. Its really cool to see one of my knives on the forums! Also, thank you to everyone else for the encouraging words. It definitely motivates me to continue in this endeavor.

Eric & Jim- You are both class acts and I have & enjoyed sharing our passion for knife collecting together! My only hope is that we can all get together at Blade this year and if I can make it, dinner will be on me! Eric- you're the best brother and I consider you a good friend! It is awesome that you are turning your passion into possibly something more and I look forward to watching your progression! BTW- I have #3 from Eric and cherish her! Sometimes you don't have to spend a lot of $$ to get a knife that you will keep in your collection forever; it's the passion and enjoyment that you feel from a maker that makes the knife even that much more special! God Bless! Tony ;)

We're getting together at Blade for sure. I can't wait to meet you guys and just walking around the show looking at all the eye-candy! We'll have a great time. This knife has a special meaning to me and it's going to be used soon. I love everything about this knife.

Very nice work on that knife. Next time you email your friend if he's looking for another friend then I'm available. Haha. Looks like he does good wrk can't wait to hear about the hard abuse report

I for sure need to take a break from these loooooong Iowa winters. I take my kids snow sledding, while Eric takes his kids swimming in the ocean! Something is definately wrong with this picture, ughhh!

My friend, if that is an example of your early work, you have a brilliant career ahead of you. Congrats on a knife that is truly a 'class act'.

That looks like an outstanding blade, especially for your sixth one Edbon09.
