Last week, I received a PM from paulhilborn paulhilborn asking for my mailing address. He said he wanted to send me something that would help "make winter easier." Now Paul has been gracious enough to answer several winter-related questions I've had since moving to Minnesota, so I already owe him thanks for that, but now it seems that I owe him even more thanks for this Burlap Micarta #71 Bull Nose that he sent my way!

Paul had recently picked this knife up on the exchange (I was too slow), and he let me know that he had removed the patina from the blade and put a fresh edge on it, so all I did when it arrived was swap out the lanyard/fob and drop it in my pocket.

Paul, thank you again! I'm looking forward to putting this knife to good use this winter!

(I will say, it's a good thing these Bull Noses can be pinched open fairly easy, even with gloves on. Thanksgiving's still a week away and it was down to 6° this morning! Thankfully it's supposed to warm up a bit before next Thursday, as I'll be outside smoking our turkey. No wonder Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October! :D)

Hey Barrett, glad she arrived to your locale. I like the new barehead bling:thumbsup::cool: I totally agree about pinchability with gloves on, the Bull Nose is a terrific knife:thumbsup: Enjoy Thanksgiving my friend:)

Lucky you, Barrett!!:)
Up here in Vancouver, frost hit the last few nights, but it's not nearly as cold as Minnesota!!
Now where did I put those gloves??

Congrats on the fine new Bull Nose, Barrett!:cool::cool: Enjoy it, and I hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving next week! :)
Kudos to Paul for his unlimited generosity!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

(And here's an email I received Saturday from our daughter who moved to Minneapolis to go to school at the end of August :D:D:
IT IS 10° OUTSIDE

IS THIS MY LIFE FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS?!?

WHY DID NO ONE WARN ME?!?!?)

That is SO MUCH like Paul.
Paul is extremely generous and I owe him so much as he has gifted me so many knives and does so much for me.

Well done Barrett matey- you deserve this - when I saw Paul had bought that knife on the exchange - I thought “ Ooooh - that’s a real nice knife - good score Paul”

Paul, Barrett, and Bullnose. A friendship story. What fun! Good job fellas.

bravo.gif To both of you, Paul and Barrett, and for the choice of Burlap 71. A nice introduction to Minnesota winter!

You got that right!! With the wind chill it's -19 in Fredericton NewBrunswick today (my hometown ) that converts to a cool -2.2 Fahrenheit.  Congrats on the cool knife. ✌
