And I don't mean the type you old timers took in the 60s... :p:D

Basically I have a knife that has a D2 blade and some lightly anodized titanium handles. I want an acid (and maybe I'm the one tripping here) that will acid wash / etch / patina the blade and also remove the anodizing from the Ti handles. The knife is already disassembled.

I would hope there is something that would accomplish both of these goals with just one product, would Muriatic acid or PCB etching solution work?

Also after the acid wash I plan to do the ghetto stone-wash with an old can with rocks in, wrapped in towel with duct tape, and thrown in the dryer on low or no heat. Bad idea?

Pics to come once the project gets going! Thanks in advance for any input, advice, or links to other threads!

Boil White Vinegar on the stove and put the blade in it for 5-10 mins..check it out and wash the black residue off and do it again until you get the color you want.

Dont know about the titanium.

Not sure what kind of anodization / patina you have but I think most polisher gets rid of them.
I've used Bluemagic metal polish cream and Mother's mag/aluminium polish to good success.
