A good deal, and a confession!

Well, when I heard that the Massad Ayoob was being discontinued, I just knew I had to act or be left behind. I found that knifeworks.com had the Ayoob for $60.00. Well, to confess something I was planning on posting that fact on the board, but I found that when I called today I had picked up his last one and he wasn't going to be able to get anymore! I feel kinda bad, but at the same time, I feel excited that sometime next week I'll be getting a new Spyderco. Of course, this year I plan to cut WAY back on knife purchases, and only intend to get the SS Cricket (can you REALLY pass up SS AND VG-10 for $40?), the CF Delica, the Dodo, and a backup for my SS Delica II (my baby). Well, sorry for the rambling message, but I just wanted to share my observations/joy with you! Thanks!

Enjoy your new Massad Ayoob. They are a great knife.
What type of edge is yours going to have?

You shouldn't be feeling guilty, I don't think. I hope you really enjoy your Ayoob, it's supposed to be a great design all around.

I got the plain edge version. I really don't use serrated edges that much, and so it didn't make much sense for me to get a serrated edge on this knife. Besides, If I want a serrated edge, I could always use my Lum Chinese, or just by an SE Cricket to abuse. I won't be abusing my SS Cricket (in PE) when I get it- well, not TOO much, but anyway... Actually I'm very interested in the VG10 steel since the only example of it I have is on my Lum. I love how that knife cuts, but I'm interested in seeing how well the knife will do in the PE. Besides, Don Rearic gave it a good review, and the design seems to make sense from a certain standpoint. Ahh... another great using knife :D

Say, I know that they're not making the Ayoob anymore, but I'm no collector. The knives I have may break, or may be lost/stolen at some point, but I know I'll NEVER sell them. If I did, my BM 710 would probably be the first to go. I dunno, I'm just a Spyder kinda person I guess. Sorry for the long reply :o !
