A good idea for a modern but traditional folder

I recently have become somewhat interested in some of the more traditional folders. I have lots of the high tech, black handled knives and wanted a change in direction.

I just ordered a great looking Schatt & Morgan Texas Toothpick with a 4" blade. Evidently they are selling like hotcakes out of A.G. Russell's catalog. Also, I like what Kershaw has done with their new "double cross" blades.

My idea is that someone should build a modern Texas Toothpick folder. Have a 4" blade, bone jigged handles, nickel silver bolsters / caps, AND a thumb stud and liner lock. Then you could have the traditional appearance of a great classic knife with the modern conveniences of one hand opening and a good lock.

Any opinions?

I've been thinking about this for quite some time.
The Texas Toothpick design lends itself perfectly to this application. A Barlow would also be nice. Although I like the idea of an axis lock on a Wharncliff blade, I feel that the axis lock button would mar the nice lines of these traditional styles. Stick with a liner lock which can be well hidden.

I am pleased that I am not alone in thoughts on this knife. As in all industries, the trend seems to swing back and forth. I still like the tactical knife look and I have plenty of them.

However, I think there is a very large market for what we are discussing here and I think that Kershaw is just scratching the surface, with their Double Cross.

What I like about the Texas Toothpick concept is that it was one of the very first "tactical" knives. Every Honkey Tonk knife fighter, in the old days, used to carry one. Imagine a modern day version!

Now we just have to find someone to make them!
